Beginning Yoga w/Sam Sanskrit: "Parinama"= change/transformation [5:30 - 6:45 pm] -Beginner- Here is your opportunity to use fall and winter time to recharge, reset and transform the body with no previous yoga experience required. These low risk poses offer deep benefits and like any activity, the benefits last longer if the poses become a habit. This class will help you move toward good habits for your body whether you are new to yoga or returning after a long hiatus or just want something different. Join us for the low risk poses warm up which will organically become a slow flow and end with a guided relaxation, leading you into one of the most popular yoga poses-Shivasana, "Final Relaxation Pose". "The objective of this class is for you to feel awesome when we are done!" - Sam |
TUESDAY |
Good Morning Yoga Sanskrit: "Kritajna"=grateful w/ Veronica [9:30 - 11:00am] -Beginner- Class begins with Qi Gong exercises that consist of simple, gentle movements repeated several times and performed in a sequence. These sequences are designed to allow the energy to move through the body, reducing stiffness which creates stagnacy and disease. The theme of each class is then internalized through a 20 minute guided meditation followed by yoga poses that progress from the floor to standing balancing poses such as "Tree"(Vrkasana) and Eagle ("Garudasana"). The focus is to be grateful for the things we can do and patient with what we can't. The goal of the class is to destress busy minds and untangle tight bodies. NOTE: Last Class-March 31 [No class on March 24] |
Hot Relax Sanskrit: "Passadhi"=tranquility/calm w/ Veronica [5:15 - 6:45pm] -No experience necessary This class combines slow, simple stretches with mind/body integration to create a meditative experience. The class is done 90% lying on the floor with multiple props to create optimal comfort in a warm(75-80 degree) room with soft lighting. The intention is to evoke the Relaxation Response which is defined as "a physical state of deep calm that changes a person's physical and emotional responses to stress". No yoga experience necessary. Just a willingness to "let go" into your natural state of calm.
NOTE: Last Class- MARCH 10 |
Hot Relax 2.0 Sanskrit: "Sankalpa"=to become one with the mind w/ Veronica [7:30 - 8:30pm] -No experience necessary This hour-long, alignment-based class only includes one heater which means it will allow you to get a nice sweat going without being as hot as a traditional heated class. Utilizing the connection between breath and body this class is designed to stretch, strengthen and center any practitioner. Tools such as fascia balls and yoga straps are added to release trigger points and encourage support and freedom in the joints NOTE: Last Class- March 10 |

Good Morning Yoga Sanskrit: "Kritajna"=grateful w/ Veronica [9:30 - 11:00am] -Beginner- This class follows the same guidelines as Tuesday's class and just like Tuesday's class the poses gently change every week while still maintaining slow mindful movement that gradually transitions from floor to seated to standing postures. The theme of each class is internalized through a 20 minute guided meditation at the beginning. This class is designed to destress busy minds and untangle tight bodies. As on Tuesday we practice being grateful for what we can can do and patient with what we can't. NOTE: Last Class- April 2 [No class on March 19 or 26] |
Intro to Hot Flow Sanskrit: "Saurya"=courage ("saur" root refers to the sun) w/Veronica [5:30 - 6:45pm] -Beginner- Starting something new takes courage. This class is similar to Monday night's Beginning Yoga class except it adds the element of heat (85-90 degrees). The intention behind adding heat to a yoga class is the same as wrapping a heating pad around a body part that is tight- you want to relax the muscle to release the tension. In a heated room the entire body is targeted to relax. We gradually introduce low impact movements to encourage mobility throughout the body. By the end of class we connect the movements to create a "slow flow" then enjoy the results of our efforts with a resting pose, lying down. Could be just what you need after a long day. NOTE: Last Class-April 2 [No class on March 19 or 26] |
Hot 60: 26 & 2 Sanskrit: "Dharana"=concentration w/ Thandi [7:30 - 9:00pm] -Ambitious Beginner/Intermediate- The room is heated anywhere from 90-98 degrees to begin the detoxification process the minute you lay down your yoga mat. A condensed 60 minute version of the classic 26 &2 sequence. This class offers all the traditional postures in a single set, providing a powerful and efficient full body practice in a (very) heated room. This style demands and therefore develops concentration, determination and mobility. |
